Recently the members of the silicon photonics technical advisory board (SP-TAB) of Si2 have decided upon extending the OpenAccess database standard to accommodate integrated optics and photonics.
PhoeniX Software, as one of the initiators and members of the SP-TAB, is supporting this extended OpenAccess standard as being very important to improve combined electronic and photonic design flows. If you want to use OpenAccess to store your design information, please get in touch with us to support you with this.
Established in 1988, the Silicon Integration Initiative, Inc. (Si2) is an international not-for-profit consortium whose mission is to achieve industry adoption of collaborative technology and services that deliver higher levels of silicon design integration, enabling compelling advantages for our members through reduced costs, faster time to market, and improved IC design capability. Amongst many standards, OpenAccess is maintained by Si2 to allow for interoperability of design tools from different vendors.
The Si2 Silicon Photonics TAB, in short SP-TAB, will help enable photonic-electronic design flows. The project has originated from the FP7 Plat4M project, which is addressing electronics and photonics co-design, integration and interoperability challenges. Silicon Photonics is an exciting emerging technology promising large benefits in performance and power.Back to overview.
