The OpenAccess Database is the world’s most widely used, open reference database for IC design, with a supporting standard API. It was developed to create authentic interoperability between EDA companies and semiconductor designers and manufacturers. Its adoption has improved design flow efficiency across the industry.
After co-founding the Silicon Photonics Working Group at Si2, PhoeniX Software worked closely together with other members of the Working Group to define some early standards to accommodate photonic design concepts in traditional EDA flows. In addition PhoeniX Software worked closely together with leading EDA solution vendors to develop interfaces to overcome limitations in traditional design environments.
By joining the OpenAccess Coalition PhoeniX Software will now be able to fully utilize the OpenAccess interface that has been developed and make it available to its rapidly growing customer base around the world. This will further improve the creation of integrated design flows, including interactive use of the non-grid based, all angle, curvilinear shape engine, bi-directional waveguide connectors and routers and the "Photonic Synthesis" capabilities for Photonics Building Blocks.Back to overview.
